Verdura Salads (2509 Main Street) has just launched in the heart of Mount Pleasant, and it specializes in elevated salad creations.

Previously occupied by Baguette & Co., the 1,600-square-foot space has been completely transformed into a garden oasis. Designed by Ply Architecture (Joe Pizza, Juke Fried Chicken), it features plenty of hanging greenery and wooden elements to create a simple but welcoming atmosphere.

The salad spot’s branding is done by local studio Glasfurd & Walker (Ask for Luigi, Kissa Tanto, Beta 5), creating a minimalist but elegant vibe.

Trevor Griffin, owner and chef at Verdura, emphasizes that his food establishment differs from others in the city because they use higher end products.

“We do a lemon ricotta cream on the bottom of our bowls, which feature a buffalo ricotta base with thyme and herb,” said Griffin to the Straight in an interview at his new restaurant. “Those are in my mind the best.”

Guests will be able to find salad creations from three categories: warm, vegetable, and leafy. Some of the most popular picks include rustic mushroom and spinach (seasonal mushrooms, vine ripened tomato, Terra Breads stecca, medium poached egg) and roasted beet and French lentil (Du Puy french lentils, almonds, arugula, lemon ricotta).

Its healthy salad options include ones like the roasted beet and French lentil. Verdura
