PARADISE>>The town council has agreed on where they would like to put a new transit center, but the Butte County Association of Governments will have the last say in the matter. At Tuesday evening’s regular meeting, BCAG deputy director Andy Newsum spoke to the matter and how the association would consider the council’s vote when making the decision.

The council agreed that they would like to see the transit center built next to the Paradise Community Park on Black Olive Drive and Birch Street after weighing pros and cons of alternative sites like Skyway and Almond Street.

The transit center aims to provide a space where routes from the Butte Regional buses intersect. BCAG is considering putting bike racks and additional covered seating in a location that would be beneficial to riders while not interrupting flows of traffic.

Another representative from BCAG presented on past projects that have been completed by the association around Northern California and the options that this one would have.

Councilman Mike Zuccolillo pointed out that the Oroville transit center, which was completed in 2011, has had some ongoing issues.

Newsum agreed that the station constructed on Spencer Avenue has poised problems that could be a concern for…

With Endless Poetry, Chilean surrealist (super-realist?) Alejandro Jodorowsky continues the fantastical memoir he began in 2013’s Dance of Reality. But where that first film made a tragic-absurdist hero out of young Alejandro’s father — he of the fierce countenance, fierce idealism, and fierce notion of what a man must be to survive in this corrupt and savage world — Poetry necessarily casts him as the villain. Endless Poetry (Poesia Sin Fin) ** Showtimes Alejandro must com…
