Game of Thrones' Peter Dinklage set for Avengers Infinity War: Will he play Pip the Troll?
  1. Game of Thrones' Peter Dinklage set for Avengers Infinity War: Will he play Pip the Troll?
GAME OF THRONES star Peter Dinklage is in talks for a major role in Avengers Infinity War. Is he playing Pip the Troll as Deadpool's creator Robert Liefeld…

Surely it’s a fanboy’s dream to see Tyrion Lannister going head-to-head with Tony Stark.

Assuming he is cast, Dinklage will be the first major actor who has not previously appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), to play a part in Avengers Infinity War.

The 47-year-old will also be the first to have appeared in both the MCU and Fox’s X-Men series, having played Dr Bolivar Trask in 2014’s X-Men Day of Future Past.

News of him being in early talks for a key role in Infinity War was reported by Variety, but could the part be Pip the Troll?

Peter Dinklage is set for Avengers Infinity War, but will he play Pip the Troll?

Deadpool creator Robert Liefeld certainly thinks so, having posted a picture of the obnoxious character with Thanos in the Infinity War comics.

Some fans were concerned Liefeld’s suggestion was a tad insensitive towards Dinklage, but he reassured them.

He tweeted back: “Are you kidding me? Pip is a huge character in the saga!

The wise-cracking cigar-smoker, whose character is not that dissimilar to Tyrion’s, was originally a Laxidazian alien who mutated after getting drunk on mutagenic hallucinogenic ale.

After being cast out by his people, he became the villain to Marvel’s Adam Warlock, while also featuring in the Infinity War storyline.

The new Avengers movie is due to start shooting in Scotland next month and will cost an estimated £400 million, making it the most expensive movie ever made.

Another suggest character Dinklage could be playing is the supervillain MODOK

Apart from Pip, another character Dinklage could be playing is the supervillian MODOK (Mental/Mobile/Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing).
