A man has died in a quad bike crash on a busy M8 slip road near to Glasgow Airport.

The 24-year-old was driving a green SMC quad bike near to Junction 29, Paisley, when he appeared to lose control and collide with a lamp post on the slip road.

The crash took place in Renfrewshire at around 3.45pm on Saturday and the man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics who attended.

Police Scotland has appealed for information.

Sergeant Mark Miller from the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Greenock said: "I would appeal to anyone who was on the M8 near to Junction 29 around the time of the crash, who may have witnessed what happened, to get in touch.

"I am also appealing for any motorists who could potentially have dashcam footage of the incident, or of the quad bike driving on the motorway beforehand, to please come forward."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Greenock via 101 and quote incident number 2662 of Saturday 12th August 2017.
