Mourners at the funeral of tragic Co Down choking victim Sherry Campbell have been told of her "generosity, kindness and love of life".

Sherry (29) was found dead by her father Shannon in the family's kitchen a month before her 30th birthday.

The Groomsport woman was a special needs teaching assistant at Strangford College.

Hundreds attended her funeral at St Comgall's Church in Bangor on Wednesday and followed the procession.

Strangford College pupils formed a guard of honour for her.

Father Joseph Gunn told mourners: “In the depths of her grief, Sherry’s mother Fionuala said Sherry was beautiful inside as well as outside, and many people have spoken to me of Sherry’s generosity, her kindness in school and her love of life.

“She had achieved much in becoming the person she was.

“The only antidote to this loss is hope; hope in the mercy of God, hope in eternal life."
