HRANA News Agency – Ayoub Asadi, a sick and exiled political prisoner at Kashmar Prison, who suffers from asthma, lumbar disks, kidney problems and vision loss in the left eye, has been deprived of medical leave and medical care in prison since about six years ago.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Ayoub Asadi from Marivan, who is on the eve of the seventh year of his imprisonment in Kashmar Prison, in Khorasan Razavi province, despite being in inappropriate physical conditions has been deprived of medical leave and parole.

A source close to his family told HRANA’s reporter: “The reason for refusing medical leave for Ayoub Asadi is that, a number of prisoners have escaped recently during their medical leave time.”

This source added: “Ayoub Asadi, who in addition to his breathing problem suffers from kidney problems and reduced visual acuity in the left eye because of a hunger strike from last year is deprived of medical leave.”

It should be noted that this exiled political prisoner who is suffering from asthma, lumbar disc disease and intestinal discomfort, had gone on hunger strike since June 5, 2016, to protest against lack of medical care and deprivation from medical leave, and unfair sentence of 20 years imprisonment. He terminated his strike after 29 days, by his family’s insistance, while he was only given a promise of being sent to the hospital for the treatment of his illness, and without paying attention to his other demands, including medical leave and reconsidering the unfair sentence o…
