The Estes Park Ladycat Golf team finished top 10 in their 3A Regional tournament, which was played on Monday, May 8 at Highlands Meadow Golf Course and two of the girls qualified for their state tournament.

Senior Ladycat, Piper Lasota finished in fifth place at Regionals with her score of 90. Megan Miller finished eighth with a score of 93 and Anna Rohwedder did not finish due to weather.

"It was unfortunate that Anna got caught up in the weather delay and never got the chance to finish," Coach Austin Logan said. "Piper and Megan did well and we are all excited that they both made it into the State 3A tournament. The state tournament was able to seat girls who shot up to 104 at their Regional tournament this year."

Lasota and Miller are both very excited to go to State this year. This is their first trip to State for both of the girls.

"It's my first trip to state in any of my sports," Lasota said. "I guess I saved the best for last. I'm stoked about going. I want to give myself a birdy putt on every hole at the tournament, because I struggle with my short game and a birdy lie on the green would guarantee me par if I miss the putt. Since it's my final high school competition, I just want to do my best and have fun."

This year the State Tournament will be held at Broadlands Golf Course in Broomfield, Colorado.

"I'd like to see our girls shoot under par for this tournament. The Broadlands course isn't a very difficult course and they should be…
