Mount Union's senior DeAllen Jackson (Akron/Hoban) was named All-Region by both the National Association of Basketball Coaches and D3hoops.com.

The NABC and D3hoops.com announced today the 2017 NABC Coaches' Division III All-District teams and the 2016-17 men's All-Great Lakes Region team recognizing the best men's collegiate basketball student-athletes and coaches in the division, selected by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division III and Sports Information Directors at the various schools.

Jackson was named Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year and led the conference in scoring with 18.6 points per game. Jackson was ranked in the top-10 in virtually every statistical category in the OAC -- steals (2nd), 3-point percentage (3rd), minutes (3rd), free-throw percentage (5th), rebounds (7th) and assists (9th).

Jackson is only the second Purple Raider in program history to earn OAC Player of the Year honors joining Aaron Shipp who won the award during the 1996-97 season.

He is the 30th Mount Union player to score over 1,000 career points and had a career-high 36 points this season in a 117-111 triple overtime win at Muskingum earlier this season.

Jackson was also selected by the NABC for the 2017 Reese's Division III College All-Star game, which will be played as part of the 2017 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship.
