A 26-year-old Grosse Pointe woman’s recent attempt to make off with $834 in Victoria’s Secret merchandise without paying was apparently thwarted by a security officer, leading to her arrest.

According to Troy police, a Somerset Collection security officer became suspicious when he noticed the woman walking out of a store carrying a merchandise-filled shopping bag from a store not located at that mall. The woman reportedly spotted the security guard, went back in the store and discarded the bag, then ran. The security guard chased after the woman who was subsequently stopped…
