Pauline D. (Gendron) Croteau, 86, of Webster, Mass., formerly of North Smithfield, R.I., and Bellingham, Mass., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, at Bayberry Commons, Pascoag, R.I. She was the loving wife for 62 years of Bernard J. Croteau of West Palm Beach, Fla.

Born in Milford, Mass., on July 6, 1931, she is the daughter of the late Francis and Arzelie (Fagan) Gendron. She is the loving mother of Linda A. Croteau-Brooks and her husband, Mark Brooks, of Webster, Mass., with whom she resided; John L. Croteau and his husband, Douglas Audette, of Woonsocket, R.I,; and Bernard J. Croteau, Jr. and his wife, Kelly, of Pascoag, R.I. She leaves her cherished grandchildren, Tyler and Kasey Croteau and numerous nieces and nephews. She is the sister of Donald Gendron and his wife, Carolyn, of Middleboro, Mass., and the late Robert Gendron.

Mrs. Croteau worked as a Registered Nurse at Woonsocket Hospital for many years and also sold Avon for 30 years. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of area bowling leagues at Walnut Hill Bowl. She was secretary of the Coffee-ettes and the Monday Night Ladies Commercial League. She received an award for Secretary of the League for Greater Providence Association of Bowling and was a member of the Board of Directors. She enjoyed tennis and ran the Tennis League on Friday nights at Fore Court and was very active at the YWCA of Woonsocket and served as the President of the YWCA Wives and Girls Club and was Treasurer of the Potpourri Club for many years.
