But less than an hour later,  the 13-year-old passed away after being rushed to the hospital. WCPO reports that Peyton was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome and needed three open-heart surgeries before his fifth birthday. His health took another turn in March, and he …

In the dawn hours of July 16, Edward French, a professional film and TV scout and avid photographer, stood atop Twin Peaks, the famed San Francisco hillside with its panoramic views of his hometown. French, 71, had his camera with him, as he always did. "He knew beautiful places. He was trying to catch the sunrise coming up Sunday morning, especially the way the city's skyline is changing," says Brian Higginbotham, French's longtime partner. "I'm sure he was just up there sitting against…

Updated at 1:15 pm ET Steve Bannon has lost his job as chief White House strategist. The White House described the departure as a mutual agreement between Bannon and chief of staff John Kelly. "We are grateful for his service and wish him the best," said press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Bannon has been a larger-than-life character in Trumpworld: a right-wing provocateur whose rumpled wardrobe and radical politics belied his background at Goldman Sachs and Harvard Business School.…

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump’s chief strategist Steve Bannon is out at the White House, two administration officials told CNN on Friday. The President has privately stewed over Bannon in recent days, including Thursday night from his golf course in New Jersey. He was furious with his chief strategist after he was quoted in an interview with the American Prospect contradicting him on North Korea and asserting that he was able to make personnel changes at the State Department. Susan Bro, the mother of Charlottesville victim Heather Heyer, says she will not speak to President Trump because of his comments that suggested white supremacist and people protesting against them were both to blame for last weekend's violence in Virginia. As the chaos of the past 24 hours settles in Spain, a clearer picture of the human cost in Barcelona and Cambrils is beginning to emerge — and one thing, at least, is becoming more apparent by the hour: Spain's deadliest terror attack in more than a decade claimed lives and damaged others from just about every continent. At least 13 people were killed and more than 100 were injured Thursday when a driver mowed down the crowds that regularly throng Barcelona's Las Ramblas boulevard, a d…

As the war rages in Syria, there have been efforts in Israel, its neighbor to the southwest, to lend a hand to Syrian civilians. The aid projects involve a mix of sympathy, secrecy, strategy — and sensitivity. Israeli volunteers recently gathered in a warehouse to prepare boxes of children's medicine to be sent to Syria — but the Israeli company that runs the warehouse asked not to be identified because it did not want to be publicly associated with the initiative, according to one vol…
