Australian Open 2017: The low seedings of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are the biggest talking…
    All Sports

The seedings for the upcoming Australian Open 2017 are out and there are little surprises as far as the top bracket is concerned. There are usual suspects as far as the top four seeds in both the men’s and the women’s sections go. But what really sets an air of surprise some may think is the seeding of Roger Federer who is placed at number 19. There is Rafael Nadal on the other hand who is placed at number nine.

This is a huge season for both of them as it could be realistically one last year as far as a shot at winning a Major is concerned. While Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic lead the charge in the men’s section, Angelique Kerber and Serena Williams are the frontrunners in the women’s club.

Coming back to Nadal and Federer, there may be more interest on how they perform than anything else. Their performance at the Australian Open will set the tone for the entire season. Also Read- Australian Open 2017: Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal in possible blockbuster 3rd round clash

Also, it will be interesting to see if Djokovic will wrestle back his crown from Murray. Ditto with respect to Serena and Kerber. Also Read- Australian Open 2017: Rafael Nadal eyes glory in Melbourne
